How many days of backup should an off-grid system have?
It depends on how critical the load is and local weather. We typically design for a reserve that covers cloudy days, and can add a generator for essential sites.
Can an off-grid system run a tube well?
Yes. We size the array, inverter and (where needed) storage around the pump's power and daily running hours. Dedicated solar pumping options are also available.
Is off-grid more expensive than on-grid?
Generally yes, because it relies on a larger battery bank for full autonomy. It is chosen where there is no reliable grid rather than purely for savings.
Do off-grid systems need net metering?
No. An off-grid system is independent of the grid, so net metering does not apply. If a grid connection exists, a hybrid system may be a better fit.
